I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. How bout you?
I was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia on a small horse ranch, jeans and t-shirt was the dress code. Riding up and down the hills and sometimes taking a bath in the creek because the horse decided it needed to cool off during a ride. Ask me about it, it’s a hilarious story.
My first experience with jewelry was working in a Mom and Pop jewelry store. My interest was immediately sparked. I mean, who wouldn’t want to work at a jewelry store.
When my daughter was born, I got to design my own mother’s ring. That’s neat, right? It’s unique and I treasure it more everyday as my daughter gets ready to head to college.
Little did I know, I would also be designing my engagement ring! My husband is a tricky kind of person. He concocted a plan with my boss to make me believe I was designing a ring for a customer. I was to come up with some ideas and he would choose from all our ideas. I had no idea until my husband proposed.
That was my last design for a while. We moved and my jewelry designing days weren’t sparked again until my daughter took a jewelry making class. She was creating some unbelievable pieces and even had some shown in one of our local art galleries. Her excitement sparked my creative side and my love for jewelry.
My daughter and husband are my motivation to do what I love. Designing jewelry is a labor of love for me. Creating makes me happy and peaceful. Wearing jewelry brings out the more confident side of me. I love feeling even when I’m in jeans and a t-shirt, I look good. Actually, especially then. I love jeans and a casual t-shirt kind of day.
My design inspiration comes from the early days of being outside and enjoying the colors of nature. My jewelry designs are made for digging in the garden, enjoying s’mores and a bonfire, or having a cookout, you can feel confident in your jeans, t-shirt and my jewelry.
Let’s feel confident in our jeans and t-shirt together.
